June UCAS Exhibition season is upon us and Newman University will be attending events in Staffordshire, Liverpool, Bedfordshire, Sheffield, Essex, Norfolk, Suffolk and Birmingham. These are ideal opportunities for you to come and speak with staff to find out more about the exciting opportunities that are on offer here at Newman!

To make the most of the day, preparation is key!

1. Check out the online Exhibition Guide

Visit the UCAS website and find the event guide for the UCAS exhibition you’ve registered to attend. The guide includes all of the information you will need to successfully begin your research, including a floor plan of the exhibition and a seminar timetable to help you plan your time.

2. Shortlist universities you want to explore

Draw up a shortlist of universities that offer the courses that you’re interested in. Remember, not all universities offer the full range of courses available on UCAS – make the most of your time at the exhibition.

3. Prepare key questions

Have a think about what you want to know about each university and ask questions to help you compare all of your options later. You may want to ask questions about your specific course, or find out more about the university itself.

4. Sign up to find out more

When you talk to universities ask about the exciting opportunities on offer, such as Open Days and Learning Days in the subjects you are interested in.

5. Learn more about the universities you like

Research the universities and courses that impressed you in greater detail. As well as university websites, sites like Which University Guide, UniStats and The Student Room can offer useful insights to help you make an informed decision.

6. Go to an Open Day

Visiting a university in person is the best way to discover whether it’s right for you. See dates for upcoming Open Days below.

7. Wear the right shoes

UCAS exhibitions tend to take place in large venues, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes.
