Looking for something to do in Birmingham? We’ve put together our favourite things to do in and around Birmingham! Below shows some of the best places to shop, eat and explore in Birmingham if you are looking for a day out.

 

Explore Digbeth – a 5/10-minute walk for the Bullring, Digbeth is a growing neighbourhood of friendly and creative businesses. Golf Fang (crazy golf), Luna Springs (outdoor space for gigs, bottomless brunch, small festivals) and NQ64 (retro arcade games) are all based in Digbeth.

Cannon Hill Park – a 20-minute drive from Newman University, Cannon Hill Park is a great place to relax and enjoy a breath of fresh air. During Summer, you can enjoy an ice cream, play mini golf, head out on the boating lake or enjoy a show at the MAC.

Bullring – if you need of some retail therapy, the bullring is the place you need! Full of shops, like H&M, Selfridges and more. Birmingham is also home of the world’s biggest Primark, which is just outside of the Bullring.

Frankfurt Christmas Market – if you already live in Birmingham, you will already know about the famous Frankfurt Christmas Market! The German market is one of the biggest in the country, where you can sample traditional German food and drink. The market starts on the 3rd November and finishes on the 23rd December – it does get busy towards Christmas!

Black Country Living Museum – another great place to visit if you love British History! Under 10 miles from Newman, the Black Country Living Museum is a great place to experience 1830’s Black Country. Enjoy a longboat ride, eat some fish and chips, go to the shops or head into the underground mines.

Library of Birmingham – as well as a vast array of books and other resources, the library also offers great views of the city from its rooftop garden terrace.

 

There are a number of areas in and around Birmingham to enjoy a meal or drink out. You can choose from Nandos, Wagamama’s, Pizza Hut, Las Iguanas, Bodega Catina – the list is endless!
