Student Voices – Why I chose Newman

Why I chose Newman University
We asked our current third year students on Integrative Counselling why they chose to study at Newman University, and these are the responses we had:
I chose Newman because it offered my course requirements for training and because of the ethos – of my faith. It is also a small community so not overwhelming.
I chose Newman because the course timings fit well with combining work and family life.
I chose Newman because it was a small university campus. I chose this course because it was part time. The information on the open day was helpful and there is a lot of support for mature students.
Newman is a great place to study. It has a family feel to it. The lecturers and other staff are friendly and helpful too.
I chose Newman University as it is a small friendly environment which is perfect for me to complete my Integrative Counselling Foundation Degree.
I chose Newman University after coming to the open day and spending time talking to the tutors. I was originally deciding on a different course but after an in-depth conversation, felt directed to change, which has been more beneficial to moving forward in my career. Thank you team for the advice and support!
The course has been great for my personal development and I’ve made a lot of friends on the journey.
The reason why I chose Newman University is because it’s a small university that offers a community feel, whereby you can feel part of everything, you are not just a number, you are a person.
What I have liked about my course is that at all stages I felt valued and learnt a lot about myself which has been invaluable.
I chose Newman because it offered a good starting point for a person who didn’t have A level qualifications. I started with an Introductory Certificate in Counselling Skills and have followed through with a Foundation Degree. I have met a lovely group of people both students and tutors alike. I have felt very supported along the way.
